Divest Ed is able to multiply our reach and resources through the support of our partners!
Better Future Project
Better Future Project is a nonprofit grassroots climate action organization based in Cambridge, MA and the proud parent organization of Divest ED. BFP's mission is to advance a powerful grassroots movement to stop the climate crisis and advocate for a rapid and responsible transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy for all. BFP has been supporting campus leaders in and beyond Massachusetts on their fossil fuel divestment campaigns since the movement kicked off in fall 2012. In close partnership with 350.org and the Divestment Student Network, BFP has supported hundreds of student divestment organizers through campaign coaching, trainings, and network events, as well as creating opportunities for students to act together for statewide climate issues. In addition to Divest ED, BFP has two other programs: 350 Mass for a Better Future and Communities Responding to Extreme Weather (CREW).
Power Shift Network
The Power Shift Network is a national network of climate, clean energy, and social justice organizations, including student-led groups, who mobilize the collective power of young people to mitigate climate change and create a just, clean energy future and resilient, thriving communities for all. PSN supports campus divestment work by helping Divest Ed connect with dozens of other youth and climate organizations, supporting our staff on national coordination, and housing our Slack channel. Being a member of PSN is free and has several benefits. If you're interested in having your campaign group be a PSN member, apply here.
350.org is a leading global climate action organization working to oppose new coal, oil and gas projects, take money out of the companies that are heating up the planet, and build 100% clean energy solutions that work for all. 350.org launched the national Go Fossil Free divestment campaign in 2012 with Bill McKibben's "Do The Math" speaking tour around the country. With the tagline "If it is wrong to wreck the climate, then it is wrong to profit from that wreckage," 350.org was instrumental in expanding the divestment movement to its current success. While their Go Fossil Free campaign no longer focuses on campus divestment, 350.org continues to support campus divestment work by partnering with Divest Ed, compiling critical divestment resources, and amplifying divestment victories of all kinds.
DivestInvest is a diverse, global network of individuals and organizations who use their collective influence as investors to divest from fossil fuels, and invest in climate solutions, thus accelerating the transition to a zero-carbon economy. Divest Invest has supported the global divestment movement by hosting press conferences, advising stakeholders and philanthropists on how to divest, and tracking the growth of the movement. They have supported campus divestment work by connecting students with influential stakeholders, providing advice, and creating national platforms for college divestment victories to be amplified.
